He initially started out as a loan officer but quickly worked his way through the mortgage ranks to underwriter, sales manager, and now Chief Compliance Officer. Andy Newton is an underwriting / credit policy manager who started with Gold Star in 2005. Andy joined the Gold Star team from ABN Amro’s wholesale division, known at the time as Interfirst, and has now become Citi bank. Andy has been in this aspect of the business for over a decade now and is considered to be at the forefront of credit policy and underwriting guideline management. He has an undisputed reputation in quality control. Andy is a family man who is married to his wife Regen, and they have 2 wonderful children Hayden and Avery. Andy is a self proclaimed sports nut who lives for College football and College basketball.

An avid problem solver and fully licensed Investment Advisor, Chris Yurko works with retirees, pre-retirees and business owners to assist them in maximizing their financial potential. By using a systematic, non-emotional approach, Chris is always glad to share the successful strategies that have not only worked in the past, but continue to work in these changing times. Christi Becker started in the banking industry in 1987 and became a loan officer in 1989 at Standard Federal Bank. In 1995, she moved to the underwriting department of Standard Federal and then to wholesale division of ABN Amro/InterFirst, now Citimortgage, in 1998. She has worked in some sort of underwriting capacity since that time, underwriting conventional, jumbo, FHA and VA loans. Since December 2008, Christi has been working as an underwriter with Gold Star Mortgage Financial Group.

Christi is married to Mark Becker and they have 3 children; Amanda (in college), Stephanie (starting college in the fall) and Jacob. In her spare time she loves to run, ski and work with the church youth group, the Chelsea High School Cross Country team and the Chelsea Soccer Club.

In no time, he was the bank’s top salesperson in every category. He was quickly promoted, and guided the bank through four new branch openings before setting out on his own in June of 2007.

Greg started Elk Financial with more than a half billion in mortgage originations and several sales awards to his credit. While underwriting continues to be his number one occupation, he gets tremendous satisfaction from teaching, managing and nurturing his many employees. The company is in the process of opening a second branch in Houston; his expanding operation promises a bright future for Greg, his wife and their three children.

An avid sports lover and outdoorsman, Greg also enjoys golf, hockey and hunting.

Mary Robitaille is a 20 year veteran of the real estate lending field. She has graduated from the Stonier School of Real Estate Lending and the Graduate School of Banking in Madison, Wisconsin. She is active in the community of Iron Mountain, Michigan and serves on both the boards of The Dickinson Area Habitat For Humanity and Maryhill Manor Healthcare Facility. Her years of lending experience began in the community banking arena and she has been a licensed loan originator in Michigan and Wisconsin since 2001.

Matthew believes in a high level of service and has proven his belief by being ranked # 2 in the state of Texas & top 10% in the Nation as a Banking Loan Consultant for a National Lender in 2007 & 2008. Recently Matthew has prioritized his focus on the growth of Gold Star Mortgage Financial Group in the Dallas Fort worth area along with the entire state of Texas. Holding many years of experience in financing the Texas group will focus on Conventional, Jumbo and Government residential financing to meet the needs of the diverse borrowers in Texas.

Originally born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, now residing in the DFW area since 2003. Married to wife Lacy with 3 children Luke, Jacob & Chloe; Matthew truly enjoys fatherhood, staying active and helping others with his kind nature and positive attitude.
